Butterfly Cupcakes:

A bit of a post Christmas/New Year “oh my goodness I’ve completely forgotten, what have I got in the cupboard that I can rustle up into something that looks half decent in minimal time for a party tea” situation.

It was actually my elder daughter who spotted this cupcake on the front of a cake magazine whilst standing in the queue in a shop a few days beforehand.

I coloured the frosting a light green (grass) and cut butterflies and small flowers (blossom and daisy cutters) out of the left over blocks of sugarpaste that I had floating around.

I also used some Culpitt cupcake cases which I must have bought a while back – pink with white blossom flowers – and found them to be really good at maintaining both shape and colour/design after baking.  A brand I’ll definitely consider buying again.
